hydration.

just like your body (like the inside part), the outside part aka the skin, needs hydration!
people age themselves by not drinking enough water and by letting their skin be dry and get flaky because it looks dull, sallow and of course, flaky. not cute. so, if you want a youthful "glow" and want to have that plump smooth skin, you need to hydrate! i always suggest adding some sort of facial spray, a ceramide, a hyaluronic acid, a moisturizer and an oil. that will cover all your bases for hydration.
So, for hyaluronic acid, it’s an acid found naturally in the skin that keeps water. So if we add this ingredient, we are essentially adding more water! It holds up to 1000x it’s weight in water and brings it all into the deeper layers of the skin.
For ceramides, they are fatty acids that help boost hydration and plump the skin.
For oil, it’s helps replenish the skins natural oil so your skin doesn’t need to produce more sebum, and if you find one that has a similar structure to sebum, it won’t be too big of a molecule that will break you Out. Coconut oil is to be avoided. Marula, argan, grape seed, hemp and jojoba are good choices! This will lock in the moisture of your skin and nourish it since oils have antioxidant and nourishing properties too to help heal the skin.

Moisturizers. There are so many out there! They come in gel, cream, and even serum consistencies. The drier your skin feels, the thicker your cream should be. As well as your age, since your skin loses collagen, elasticity and hydration as you age, your cream should be thicker and full of more of the acids and ceramides and oils! If you’re oily, stick to oil free and find a gel texture to help with the water content instead of the oil content!
So there hou have it! Keep yoirself hydrated inside and out and never forget to moisturizer and hydrate your whole body! Every inch needs hydration. Lotions will always act as that emollient to lock in your skins water 💙
much love,
xo
