my drunk in love story

i am drunk in love. completely. but not how most people would think. i am in love with a skincare brand called Drunk Elephant. so, to be catchy, it's called being drunk in love. cute right? i have posted about them before on here and have shared my love for them, but i now have a beautiful story to share.

to start, i want to express my extreme gratitude for Drunk Elephant and everything they do and believe in. Tiffany Masterson is the CEO and she believes in good, well research ingredients and does not believe in her branded "suspicious six" ingredients (alcohols, fragrance, essential oils, chemical suncreen, sls, and silicones). she tried to find skincare that did not have these sensitizing and harmful ingredients so she created this beautiful brand. she has created serums, moisturizers, sunscreens, cleansers, a lip balm and more. i believe in what she says in that we need to simplify our routines to only include actives and products that work well with the skin and are known to be effective, whether it's glycolic acid for exfoliation or zinc oxide for sunscreen. that being said, ever since the brand entered Sephora, the hype has been huge. there were these goregous colourful products on the shelves at a steep price that were meant to take all your problems away. so naturally, I was incredibly interested.

fast forward to now and i can happily happily say that i had the pleasure of using every single one of their products on my skin. I have tried them all! I love my glycolic night serum and my creamy moisturizer and my jelly cleanser. They make me look forward to the start and end of my day because I get to use the beautiful packaging and take time for my self care ritual and see my skin brighten up. if you’re curious, I only didn’t like 2 products! The pekee bar got all mushy so I couldn’t keep it in my shower which is a bummer (I like the jelly cleanser better) and d Bronzi (im just too fair for it). But everything else I have used has been magic.

Here is a list in terms of am and pm routines of what I use:

am - beste no. 9, c Firma, b hydra, c tango, protini, Umbra

pm - beste no. 9 or juju, TLC Framboos or a passioni, b Hydra, shaba, Marula oil, Lala retro

now i I want to talk about the greatest thing that could have possibly happened for me. I was featured on the Drunk Elephant Instagram page. Me. Erin. The girl with bad skin, self esteem issues and anxiety. I posted a picture of my skin how it was and how it is now because of how much I believe in this brand. I put myself out there and let people see how bad it was and see me now without makeup simply in hopes of people feeling insiration or hope that their skin CAN get better and that Drunk Elephant truly can get you there. I think I have TLC Framboos to truly thank, and eliminating some ingredients, especially fragrance. But I put that out there because I wanted people to believe in the products like I have! And I truly hope it worked. That day was a whirlwind of congratulations and comments and messages and tears and joy. I felt so special and I actually felt some confidence and a boost for my ego because something incredible came from my struggles. I was recognized by my favourite brand simply because I had acne and figured out how to help it. If you had told me this a year ago I would have laughed. No way would I have this Instagram family and love and support and this miracle for my skin. But it’s my reality. I could not be more thankful. It’s been the biggest dream come true.

The luckiest part part was when i got a big blue box in the mail one day with the cutest case full of drunk elephant goodies. I cried. I looked at the bag in shock that I was given the most generous gift from people I have never met. It felt like Christmas! Needless to say, I somehow feel harder in love with them. They’re a company that is generous because they believe so much in their product and I think thats beautiful.

If you have been contemplating taking taking the plunge (and your wallet can handle it) please please give them a try.

much love, xo
